Manila – Coron – El Nido

…Upon arriving at Manila airport (we flew with Singapore Airlines), we first exchanged €500 for 18,795 Philippine Pesos and bought a SIM card for 1,050 Pesos. Our first hotel was The Sphere Serviced Residences in Makati City. It wasn’t exactly close to the airport, but using the Grab app (a Southeast Asian platform for booking private taxis), we quickly found a driver. Since we had already researched that Manila doesn’t offer much in the way of sights, we flew the next day with Cebu Pacific to Coron.

Our accommodation in Coron, Corto del Mar, was very nice. It had a slightly Moroccan style and a beautiful pool in the courtyard. We stayed three nights before continuing by ferry to El Nido.

Coron is truly worth visiting. It’s a fascinating place from which you can book beautiful boat tours. We did a full-day tour and visited: Kayangan Lake – Skeleton Wreck – Twin Lagoon. The underwater world was absolutely spectacular.

Tag 5: Ankunft in El Nido
